Our Mission

Pathway's core mission is to develop a range of successful and sustainable businesses that provide opportunities for people with disabilities or other disadvantage to gain access to employment.

We aim to achieve this in three key ways:

1. By working with rural and disadvantaged communities throughout Shropshire to develop businesses which support local employment opportunity, long-term sustainability and the creation and circulation of wealth through the trading and the development of social capital.

2. By working towards the inclusion of those excluded by employment disadvantage through the provision of work opportunities in a supportive and integrated environment which reconnects them with the wider community.

3. By developing a promoting a 'barrier free' approach to providing skills-based training, i.e. one which recognises that each individual may face a number of real or perceived barriers to taking up employment (e.g. lack of confidence, transport difficulties, fear of benefit loss) in addition to an initial low vocational skills base, and that a prescriptive or time limited approach will not work.
